Johnston joins OIPA board of directors

March 2010
TOPICS: OIPA
Rob Johnston, Apache Corporation’s central region vice president, has been named to the OIPA’s board of directors.

Johnston was appointed by OIPA Chairman Mike McDonald following the resignation of Obie O’Brien, a fellow Apache executive  who serves as the company’s vice president of governmental affairs.

No stranger to Oklahoma, Johnston served as the central region vice president from 2002 until 2006, when he transferred to Argentina as the country’s first region manager. He returned to Tulsa and the central region office in 2009.

Johnston joined Apache in 1982 as a geologist in the Mid-Continent region, before transferring to Cairo as development manager in 1996 and to Calgary as exploitation manager in 2000.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Tulsa.
