OIPA Safety Symposium returns Sept. 12

August 07, 2017
The OIPA SAFE Leadership Symposium returns Sept. 12 with a new venue and a new event.

Topgolf in Oklahoma City will play host to the premier oilfield conference focusing on leadership within the field of Health and Safety.

Through the combination of discussing relevant issues and the networking opportunities with like-minded health & safety professionals, participants will learn new information, skills and attitudes that will serve them well as they seek to be advocates for a SAFE oilfield.

Symposium speakers are chosen not only for their expertise in health and safety, but for their unwavering dedication to developing leadership within the energy sector.

The event will feature a panel of experts discussing how to build, manage and maintain best-in-class health and safety programs. The panel will be made up of Kimray Inc. CEO Thomas Hill III, Gulfport Energy Director of EHS and Regulatory Jace Marshall, and Helmerich & Payne International Vice President of Health, Safety and Environment Warren Hubler.

Keynoting the event will be retired U.S. Army Maj. Ed Pulido, senior vice president of the Folds of Honor Foundation, a veterans charity which provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of the fallen and wounded. Pulido is also a founding member of Warriors for Freedom Foundation, a leadership institute focused on the mental, physical and wellness support of wounded veterans and their families.

Immediately following the Symposium will be the Topgolf Challenge, a fun networking opportunity that will provide attendees opportunities to:

   • Network with fellow attendees
   • Have lunch in a fun, laid-back environment
   • Participate in several Topgolf games with the chance to win prizes
   • Raise money for the Warriors for Freedom, a non-profit charity that connects service members, veterans, and their families with resources needed to become united with the community following active duty.

Topgolf features fun and competitive golf games are played in climate-controlled playing “bays” similar to a bowling lane, and the facility features an impressive food and drink menu.

Registration fees are $150 for members of OIPA, MCEPS or ASSE and $200 for non-members. Registration cost includes the symposium and the Topgolf Challenge.
