Oil industry gets new 'villian'

TOPICS: In the news
There's a new villian in the oil patch and America is watching.

Russell Hantz, owner of Hantz Tankering in Dayton, Texas, is a contestant on the reality show Survivor: Somoa, which airs on Thursday nights on CBS. He openly describes himself as a puppet master and, needless to say, he's kind of a jerk.

Fans of the show have already labeled him as one of the worst villains in the shows 10-year history, mainly because he introduced himself as a former New Orleans firefighter who watched his trusty dog drown during Hurricane Katrina. Oh, and while his castmates slept, he emptied the water out of their canteens and burned their socks.

While most of Hantz's family, including his wife and four kids, have said the actions on the show are just an act, His brother, Shawn, doesn't necessarily agree.

"Hes not putting on a show. Hes just taking it to a huge extreme. He does in a sense try to run things. And Im not going to say he runs me, Shawn said with a laugh, But Russell has a very assertive personality.
